    1. Hi Audrey,

No I agree, barking collars are not going to help with this issue. Best bit of quick advice I can give you is to read “The Dog Listener” by Jan Fennell, as it’s not something that I can just a suggest a thing or two. It’s slightly more complicated than that. It’s definitely something I can help with though. Whereabouts are you based?

      Thanks,
      Vicky

    1. Hello Sam,
I would recommend that you read “The Practical Dog Listener” by Jan Fennell. There is a lot you can do to help and this book will point you in the right direction. If you are in Essex I can help 121.

  4. I have a problem with my little dog Bertie – when cornered he is aggressive and will bite.
He wants to kill anyone that walks passed our window!
When he was a puppy he was looked after a lady who had a rotveiller and she was aggressive to anyone who she did not know
He has bitten me – bitten my husband and now bitten by my sister in law when she tried to retrieve him from under a bush as they needed to go out
I really need to calm this aggression – can you help?

    1. Hi Michelle,

I definitely can, but I have only just seen this message, so I appreciate you may have gone elsewhere. If you are still looking for help, please email me directly on vicky@adogs-life.co.uk as I don’t always get notified about comments on the blog posts.

      Thanks,

      Vicky

  5. Hi Vicky

I am looking for some training for my 18 month old Poochon Leia. She 8s mostly a lovely over friendly dog, but she will sometimes get for possessive over something, coukd be a toy, piece of paper, treat, and will growl and attempt to bite. She gas caught my husband and sin and drawn blood on a couple if occasions. I have tried using something she considers if higher value, which dies sometimes work, but sometimes it’s too late. She also barks excessively sometimes at anyone outside the front window, particularly cats!!!
